The following is a message from the City of Calgary

Green Line approved!
On Monday, June 26, City Council approved the full 46 km alignment and 28 stations for the Green Line LRT from 160 Avenue N to Seton. This is a major milestone for the program, and ensures that the Green Line can be built in stages as funding becomes available. This summer, the focus will be securing the funding, and The City is aiming to have shovels in the ground by 2020, with the first stage of construction complete by 2026.

Next steps for fall 2017 & beyond
The City will be back in the fall to talk to communities within the stage 1 construction area to further refine the design and plan for construction. Planning will continue on future stages of the Green Line LRT as well as the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) work in the north. Area Redevelopment Plans and Station Area Plans will continue to be refined in the southeast, and will be presented to Council in 2018.

Local volunteer opportunity!
Are you interested in being a local advisor to discuss Green Line area redevelopment for your community?

The Green Line Area Redevelopment committee includes four locally focused working groups. The City is accepting applications for volunteers of all ages, from the communities of Ramsay, Inglewood, Millican-Ogden, Riverbend, South Hill (and surrounding neighbourhoods)to review and discuss current redevelopment policies which will guide how these areas grow and change for the future.
