Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) has put in a moratorium on licenses to cannabis stores following a national shortage on supply. This has prevented the opening of some cannabis stores with all of the City of Calgary approvals. Normally, if a development permit is approved, it expires after a period of inaction. As a result, Administration is proposing a change to allow approved Cannabis Stores to apply for up to two, one-year extensions on their development permits.

These changes will be presented to Council at the 2019 April 3 Standing Policy Committee on Planning and Urban Development. If you would like to include a written submission, you can email the City Clerk at publicsubmissions@calgary.ca
