Calgary’s Unique model: a resilient force in our City

On Sunday June 19th, Carrie and Leslie did a pecha kucha style presentation on our community associations at the Canadian Institute of Planners  (CIP) Conference. We talked about the unique structure of our CA model, your resiliency in the face of challenges, and how you play a crucial role in creating Calgary’s identity and physical landscape or as we call it “city building”.  Our presentation focused on our network of CAs are co-creators (a term by Peter Kageyama) in our city. As co-creators, you all play a variety of roles:  starters, builders, connectors, bridge-builders, provacateurs, and community champions.

Deerfoot Trail Study-Short Term improvement Recommendations

Last year, the City held a stakeholder workshop to attain feedback on potential short-term improvement options for Deerfoot Trail. After investigating over one hundred iterations of options, five short-term improvement recommendations were identified for future consideration and funding. For the remainder of the study, the project team will be working on the long-term recommendations for Deerfoot Trail. It is anticipated that the long-term recommendations will be completed and shared by the end of 2018. YYC Scheduled Runway Maintenance

Community members may notice a change in aircraft flight activity as a result of the runway closure. During the closure dates, the majority of aircraft will depart and arrive on Runway 35R/17L (east runway). Please read this post to find out more about what dates the closures will be occurring.
