Changes from the City – Federation Store (Planning)

Hi Everyone,

Below are a list of changes that the city has recently implemented and may affect the way your community works.

1. Development information online – calgary.ca/development

Citizens can now learn more about applications to redesignate (rezone) a land use, or develop a site in their community 24/7 by visiting our Planning & Development Map.
We’ve recently updated the site to include all development application types. Learn about an application and its status, share it and provide online feedback.

2. Notice improvements

Thanks to Calgarians’ input, we’ve improved the way we inform citizens about proposed development applications in our city with the launch of our new onsite notice. As of December 1, 2017, all new proposed development sites will have our new, simple and informative notice onsite that includes a map, plain language description and resources including calgary.ca/development to learn more or provide input.

3.Helping volunteers (community association, sports groups and social recreation) develop sites

Navigating development opportunities can be a challenge for volunteers, which is why The City worked with Federation of Calgary Communities to launch a new web page that helps volunteers determine the potential of developing a community association property, and what third-party business activities might be possible.
