Home Improvement Project Open House

The Home Improvement Project open house will allow homeowners undertaking renovations to increase their understanding about the requirements and advantages of permits, inspections and, if they are not doing the work themselves, hiring licensed contractors.
Inspectors and subject matter experts will be available to discuss:
✓ Plumbing
✓ Electrical
✓ Framing
✓ Land use bylaws and processes
✓ Secondary suites
If you are unable to make it down to the municipal building to apply for a permit, no problem. Planning Service Technicians will be at the open house to guide homeowners through the online submission process for decks, garages, interior home improvement projects, electrical and plumbing permits.
The Open House will offer a unique opportunity for homeowners to connect, and partner with, The City on their home improvement project. The City wants to ensure homeowners can manage home renovation projects with confidence.
