Thanks to your input Calgary, we’re improving the way we inform you about proposed development applications in our city. Starting today, proposed developments will receive an onsite notice that is informative and easier to understand. The new notices include a map, a plain language description and resources such as calgary.ca/development to learn more about the application or provide feedback.

The feedback we received on the 2017 Pilot Notice through our online survey helped us make several improvements to ensure our new notice is simple, informative and transparent.

In most cases, an improved small notice measuring 2’x3’ feet will be posted by The City at sites across Calgary. Large development sites will be asked to post a larger version of the notice measuring 4’x8’ feet, which is in line with what other municipalities require across Canada. Last year alone,        1, 377 development permits and 436 land use redesignations were approved by The City, each of them providing an opportunity for citizen input.
